Poverty is born in the mind

How many times have you asked yourself why some people are rich, and others are not? Why do some work a lot, but earn little, while others do the opposite? Speaking honestly, the first question didn’t busy my mind much, because it came from the second one. And I thought about it a lot and for a long time.

I dismissed the version about skills, knowledge and experience right away. They can be admitted, but do not play the key role.

It turned out that it is the mindset that matters. It’s your attitude to making money that affects the process of earning. Some take this easily and calmly, others internally get tensed and are preparing to pull the strap, like barge hauliers on the Volga River.

In 2017, I had an interesting dialogue with one of the students of a local university who worked as a laboratory assistant at the department:

“I do almost nothing, only open and close the doors. Sometimes I bring dummies and manuals for laboratory work. And that’s all. And the money is mine. Easy money.”

“Is it possible to somehow learn this, or is it unachievable?” I asked then. He grinned slyly. That is how I saw proof that mindset and attitude determine the course of life.

But where does the mindset come from? It turns out that these are our guidelines and thoughts.

We all come from childhood

If you recall what people of the Soviet school say about money, you will want to go to a monastery and not think about worldly concerns:

  • Happiness does not lie in money. - Of course. But it is money that forms the basis in the age of abundance and capitalism. Travelling, peace of mind, quality medical care and things like that are bought for money;
  • Money is evil. - No comments;
  • Making money is hard. - If you dig a trench for 10 hours and get 20 $ for it, then yes, it’s difficult. But if you consider any work from such a position, then even watering flowers and arranging mail by dates is an enormous effort;
  • Honest people do not earn much. - In the USSR this attitude worked perfectly because socialism and communism did not imply private property, the pursuit of wealth, etc. The dashing 90s reinforced these views. In recent years, info-Gypsy has flourished on the Internet - 7 out of 10 trainers are nothing of themselves, but they are actively teaching and selling. Which means cheating and profiteering. But read how B.Y. Alexandrov climbed up to his elite curd cakes or how Chichvarkin sold phones. They did not show fraud, but only patience, hard work and the ability to find a way out of difficult situations thanks to the right attitude.

Every negative guideline can be made out like that. There is no rationality there at all, but there are limitations that prevent one from living comfortably.

After analyzing all the guidelines, you will understand how you do not need to live. From here we can derive a positive mindset: change the negative into positive, and you will be happy. But not everyone succeeds in this.

Brain resists

When changes are too quick and radical, the body, including the nervous system, resists. Constancy and balance are the keys to a calm and long life. But it is not always comfortable to live a life like this. A person is trying to change something, but his own brain is in the way. But it is possible and necessary to overcome this resistance:

  • Do not make drastic changes. Preparation for earnings should be smooth. Starting a new life from Monday is the last thing to do. It begins when you are ready for it.
  • You need to know exactly what and for what period you want to get. All figures must be achievable and real. It's nice to dream of a million per year, but you can hardly do it if you don’t even earn 50,000 now.
  • You need to know exactly what the earnings are for. Money for money is a waste of time. This is just a step that separates you from the benefits (travelling, cars, houses, etc.). You need to think about the final result.
  • Do you really want this? If others want this for you (mom, spouse or friends), then achieving the goal is out of the question. This is not your goal, not your desire and not your concern. The dreams of other people are their problems. Not yours.

After you have worked out the guidelines and desires, you can set a goal. And there are subtleties here as well.

Millionaires and billionaires

What is the difference between millionaires and billionaires? In plans for life and goals setting.

Millionaires planned goals and lifeless specifically than billionaires. For the latter, everything was clear and strict on points: how much they should earn for a particular period and what result they would have to achieve in a year or several years.

But each of them gave himself a specific guideline (goal), to which he strove. He took specific steps and actions. This leads to four postulates:

  • A clearly defined goal. In a computer program or on a smartphone, in a notebook - it doesn’t matter. Dreaming is one thing, and catching and formulating a thought is another one. This is a completely different level of intellectual work, which becomes a stumbling block for many.
    It is easy to say: “I want an apartment”. It is more difficult to think about the furnishing, where the windows face, the layout of the rooms, etc. Therefore, many people stop at the elementary “want” stage. We ceased to listen to our desires and understand ourselves (which is noticeable under item 4 in the list). For a comfortable life in abundance, we will have to learn to understand ourselves again.
  • Actions. Setting a goal is not enough. Concrete steps are needed – searching for a job, advanced training or a change of profession. Even to win the lottery you need to get up and buy a ticket, and then follow the drawing. Actions towards the goal will ultimately lead to it.
  • Do not wait for instant results. Everything takes time. If you plant a seed, it does not germinate in an hour, or even after 2 days.
  • Rejoice at small successes. The first results are not always magnificent, but they are pleasant and exciting. Yes, someone may succeed faster and in a bigger volume, someone is less successful, and you get what you get. Comparing yourself to others and devaluing your achievements is the sure way to failure and depression.

There is another recommendation - a positive attitude. Not a frenzied joy and groundless hope for the best, but a calm, even mood for the future.

In one of his interviews, Chichvarkin shared his memories: “Even after the theft of employees, resentment or outright failures, I was upset for a couple of minutes. These were brief episodes, after which I quickly came to my senses and had other ideas ready."

A positive attitude and a clear goal in mind are the keys to the success of any company.

This also works for personal purposes. Then we recommend that you keep your goals and dreams in focus and always at hand. Using this simple tool and a positive attitude, you will surely become a winner in your life.
