Our century suffers from diabetes and procrastination. If everything is obvious with the first one, the putting things on hold are often associated with low self-esteem and wrong time management; but another hidden reason is spikes in blood sugar. Now we'll figure it out.
Things start at the kitchen table
So you woke up. In the head, the usual mental “chewing gum”: call, check mail, send two letters and correct the presentation. And also a contract. And also a call. In parallel - morning toilet and breakfast. This is where the secret agent of procrastination lies in wait - fast carbohydrates.
What do you have for breakfast? Instant oatmeal, or a bun with Nutella paste? No hidden advertising or black PR, just a common question.
Even if a sandwich consists of white bread, butter and sausage, this is not enough. From the contained carbohydrates (including the ones in sausage), blood sugar rises to 11-15 mmol / l, you will quickly get full and go to work full of energy. But the high tone does not last for long.
After an hour\hour and a half the glucose level will drop rapidly because the body always releases more insulin into the blood than is required. In addition, you no longer eat carbohydrates and do not raise sugar to its previously high levels. And at that moment you are already at work ...
Sweet powerlessness
Remember yourself after such a breakfast: you sit at the table and do not want anything - neither write, nor call, or check the presentation. You want to sleep, your body is relaxed, you are too lazy to think, and even more so to solve complex tasks.
Contracts are sent to the desk drawer, and negotiations are half-hearted and uninitiated.
If they are held at all because it is hard to make calls. It will wait, like everyone else.
Students piously believe in the power of carbohydrates. They eat a chocolate bar before a crucial test or during long preparatory evenings. Brains work faster for a while, but “the fuel” has side effects.
Drowsiness, irritability and excess weight become constant companions.
Diet and three-day self-control allow getting fog out of your head and bringing yourself into working condition.
2 steps to come out of sugar coma:
If procrastination drove you into the pit of unfulfilled tasks and covers your head, try:
- Review your nutrition plan. Eliminate fast carbohydrates (bread, sweets, chocolate, sausages and crisps). For breakfast - porridge (traditional oatmeal, not instant - it contains only empty calories) and a protein component. This is cottage cheese with low-fat sour cream, yoghurt or fruits (not the jam!), or scrambled eggs/omelette (to your taste).
- So that giving up your usual sweets would not be so painful, take the dietary supplement Chromium Picolinate. It is sold in a pharmacy and is absolutely legal and safe. The medication was developed for diabetics not yet using insulin. The chromium compound gently and quickly lowers blood sugar to a normal level (6-7 mmol / l), and the sugar craving disappears. One capsule should be taken after a meal during 3-5 days. Once a day. More is not required. You won’t desire cakes and ice cream unless you start eating them yourself.
So, procrastination caused by sweets can be quite defeated if you make a little effort and really want to be productive.
We wish everyone to eat tasty food, good for the body and business!
