It is human to strive for success, happiness, harmony, to be the best version of yourself. The question is only one: which way to achieve the goal is preferable? Struggle and the desire to win and to get a positive result can occur through effort or violence against oneself. You are a living person. You have feelings and emotions. And they prevail when it comes to your personality. I know how difficult it can be to make efforts without violence over your inner world, soul, dreams. But everyone has the power to learn to understand the fine line that should not be crossed to maintain mental health.
Pride or depression for the effort
Upward movement is about the ability to overcome resistance. At the same time, it is important to preserve the adequacy of actions and behavior in relation to oneself. Development should begin with increasing self-esteem. If you do not apply this recommendation in practice, you can end up with a whole bunch of side effects. This list may include:
- depression and panic attacks
- chronic fatigue
- emotional burnout and apathy
When you take the path of self-development, indeed, you will need to make efforts. Otherwise, expectations will not be crowned with success. It’s a simple truth that has an absolutely logical basis. But there is still another projection. It consists of the fact that the effort you make should be transformed into positive emotions, joy. Feel inspiration, high spirits, joy. There is no place for negative emotions and severe pain.
It is important: effort should be crowned with pride and joy for the result. Otherwise, with the development of apathy, depression, aversion to what is happening, one can only state violence against oneself.
Motivation is the engine of development
Imagine a situation with an unloved job. This is a common problem in our society. You are sitting at the desk in the office, the boss constantly demands something or is dissatisfied with your efforts, your every step is monitored, and your eyes are fixed on the clock, waiting for the clock hand to reach the anticipated 6:00. And this is at best, because the working day can end even later or be irregular. I also had such a difficult period in my life.
My boss forbade even picking up the phone and turning to other employees. There was only a regulated break of 5-10 minutes, during which we had an opportunity to maintain our basic personal needs (to run to the toilet, call our parents or child, take a sip of water). Then I thought that there was only the word "must", and as for "I do not want", I had no right to say it or even think about it. Salary should be motivation in this situation, but it was not satisfying. Negative emotions accumulated. For several years, day after day, I showed open violence against my personality. This did not lead to career growth and success, but only to a nervous breakdown and loss of voice for more than a month. The result was my letter of resignation. Energy costs in the wrong projection led to a collapse.
Now it's your turn to analyze your life. Are you willing to regularly abuse yourself? The answer will definitely be negative. Find yourself and then you will not have to go through the hard way from day to day. This is the work that needs to be done on your own. To enjoy what you do is the best motivation. Empower your perception and consciousness with this self-programming and discipline service. Effective self-correction tools will help you learn how to set goals correctly, moving towards their achievement in a systematic manner and without violence against your personality.
Note: effort consists of small steps towards tangible results. Lack of motivation, feeling of negativity and exhaustion, categorical lack of pleasure in what is happening or what you are doing, are direct signs of violence.
The four main criteria for distinguishing effort from violence
It is easy to understand the difference between these concepts. At the psychological level, emotions remain in the first place. When you are inspired by something, you feel interest, elation, excitement. Efforts are easy in this state. If we are talking about responsibilities, demands, meeting the expectations of others, lack of desire, then in fact there is only violence. I'll tell you a story from my life. I must honestly admit right away: I hate making phone calls and offering people something. As for me, cold sales cause a rise in my blood pressure and burning cheeks. At work, my task was to make calls to contract and corporate subscribers of a mobile company with a proposition to enable melodies instead of a dial tone. Before each such call, I gathered myself with courage, suppressed the embarrassment and shame that I was distracting people with some kind of nonsense. This is the highest level of violence. I didn't manage to become a sales expert. So, the hallmarks of effort versus violence are as follows:
- You must succeed in tasks you are doing. In this case, skills are developed and improved. Efforts bring results. With violence, there is no motivation - development is zero.
- You must feel pride in the efforts you made. You are moving towards your goal, the steps are effective and bring pleasure and joy.
- Efforts bring you closer to your dream. Systematically and consciously, you move in the chosen direction.
- You develop and change for the better as a person, as a personality, as an expert.
The fine line between effort and violence is the result you get. The chosen path to achieving the goal is based on overcoming resistance. The price of this process should not be a broken person who does not succeed but continues to bear the burden of responsibility "because it is necessary." Speaking without guile, you will not be able to completely avoid manifestation of violence in your life. Everyone has the power to define for himself a comfort zone for peace of mind. Your actions can be both effort and some kind of violence. At the final point, they should end with a conscious understanding that you really need it. This will help you to develop yourself, plan your life and achieve your goals.
